OK, so I taped a show last night on the Edirol R-09HR at 24 Bit and it automatically started the new file after reaching the 2GB limit. But the second file is the end of a song that was on started the first file. So how do I join these 2 files together so I can then track them without having to add a new track? I use Audacity and CD Wave. Thanks!

in Audacity...
open both files
copy and paste the second file on the end of the first
then export
Audacity does not have a 2 gig limit

Thanks! Will try it tonite.

I did this, and then found out one of my tracks had a split second dropout where they joined. After I seeded the show. :-\

I use the shntool join function. No problems.

One thing to be aware of if you join tracks together in Audacity - make absolutely sure that you aren't in a "snap to" mode, where the cursor snaps to a time unit (e.g. CD frames, film frames, NTSC frames, hundredths of a second, etc.). You need to move the cursor to the absolute end of the first track before pasting the second.
As long as I remember to do this, autosplits from my LS-10 come through with absolutely no dropouts.
Snap-to can also be a gotcha when putting in a fade-out at the end of the track...

I've never had a problem - Edit > Move cursor to...Track End > Paste

I use shntool join also.
I have also used addawav.
Which is a very easy way to do it.

I use addawav. It takes the two files and joins the second to the former. Dump the latter and move on!

Foobar 2000, a very versatile free program that a lot of us use for one thing or another, will do it easily.
Load the files to be joined into Foobar (you can even join a bunch of them at once).
Highlight the files to be joined.
Right click and select "Convert" then "Convert to Single file".
I use this for my line in recordings made with my Hi-MD recorder (you can't turn off automatic new track creation when the volume drops below a certain point and then comes back up). Once I had over 100 tracks in a set, and after converting to wave with Sonic Stage, Foobar easily turned then into 1 file in one step.

^^
Nice. I use foobar exclusively and never even knew that you could join files.

I simply copy and paste in wavelab. well for one file I do (when the file splits). for multiple files needing retracked I use wavemerge but will check out foobar for it from now on.
