After changning my order 2 times, my HT3's were picked up this morning. Having to sacrifice and use my wifes Onix Ref1's and cheap Onix X-series center channel was well worth it. There is something to be said about buying through a custom builder. I've never had service like it. When I would stop by the shop just to see how my speakers were coming, Jim would give me a tour of the latest. Salk Sound is very busy these days with all the HT2-TL orders. Jim will be shipping a couple full systems to Aisa, Hawaii, and will soon be shipping to Afganistan.
My HT3's are African Bubinga with the HTC being satin black. I asked Jim to make them a little darker if possible and he delivered. I'll be looking into upgrading the electronics soon, but I'm pretty happy with what I hear from my Odyssey Stratos Extreme SE - Marantz AV8003 combo. Right now I'm looking to add a Dodson DAC to the Squeezebox and BAT tube pre - solid state amp combo.

Beautiful!
Bet they sound good too.

wow, those are beautiful - congratulations!
You've run Salk's before, no? They seem to have a very dedicated following.

Heard them many times before at local GTG's since Jim is so close and finally got the chance to purchase. Had to sacrifice for a year but well worth it. They sound great and I'm glad this purchase supports the local economy. Jim builds these in a building only 5 miles from my house so if anything happens to veneer (kids) he can fix it.

very purdy!
Oh, wait, you got the bubinga? I've heard that it causes upper-midrange phase coercion ;D <kidding>
enjoy!

I'd be less concerned with veneer, and more concerned with drivers! I discovered in horror recently that the dust cap on one of my HornShoppe Horn drivers was pushed in! Thankfully, nothing some patience and duct tape couldn't fix....
