Title: Will AKG CK8 shotgun caps work w/ 480 bodies?
Post by: ccage on July 31, 2009, 11:24:53 PM
Searched but could not get answer.
If so - would this be a good combo for certain situations ( maybe large indoor venues where OTS is further back?)
A friend wants to sell me his cheap and I was thinking about it.
I've used CK63/480 combo for last 13 years.

Ran Nak300 CP4 guns back in early 80s so I'm familiar with "shotgun sound"
Any input is always appreciated
Thanks

They will work on the 480's with the a60 reducer rings, the question is do they sound good?  I have never run the combo, but my guess is that they would sound great  ;D

Thanks guys -Team AKG to the rescue ;D
I was thinking about using them this fall for the WP/ABB shows in B'Ham Convention Center.
I don't see a60's on AKG site so I assume they are "vintage" as well - is trolling on YS my only option?

They are fairly hard to come by as they are not produced anymore.  I came into a bunch of them over the last year and just sold my last exta set with a pair of ck2 omnis.  I would post a ISO and see what you come up with.  Typically they go for $90-$110 a pair.  You might try a PM to sunflute.  I made a trade with him last year that included a pair and he may no be using them.  Good luck on your search.
