Title: archive.org embedded player and wordpress
Post by: pwig on September 07, 2009, 07:47:09 AM
I'd like to embed a show on a Wordpress blog. I have copied the link from the player and hit the embed media icon on the toolbar. Each time I end up getting a small string of html and no player in the blog post. Any ideas?

I've had good success with this player:

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/mp3-player-plugin-for-wordpress/

It seems to play remote files. (although that's not really mentioned in the plug-in description)

I was able to get an LMA hosted track to stream in mini-player mode...didnt test the other modes.

Bit it looks like you just need the playlist for the bigger, multi-song modes...

I just paste the code from LMA directly into the post. Here's an example: http://www.chrisandleah.com/2009/08/19/archive-org-matt-nathanson-in-toronto-2009-08-11/

If the player doesn't show up right away that's because LMA isn't loading.

Hmm - maybe theme issues?

I just made a test post and I cant get it to load in my blog either.

It seems to know it's flash on the WYSIWYG side...but doesnt load.

Mine is working fine now... No changes made for me. I only have issues when LMA won't load/doesn't respond.

In the past, I've done the same thing but I have had zero luck with this lately. I start the player and then copy the code where it says, embed this player. In Wordpress, I click on the "Insert/Edit Embedded Media, select Flash and post in the url. Are my steps wrong?

I think you're doing too much.
I just post the code imbedded in the post and its fine.

Exactly.

Don't both with the features of WordPress, just past the code right into the body of your post and yer good to go.

Thanks for the responses.

I copied and pasted the code directly into the post and on the visual tab it shows a blank box with a F for the flash sign. When I post or preview the post, I get nothing. I did try an older upload of mine so something has changed in the code clearly.
