Title: battery box or C9100
Post by: Big Perm on October 03, 2009, 05:02:10 PM
I have a MK-II, and just picked up a pair of CA-14 omni's.  I mostly record loud rock music, but not always! anything really is game... do I need a battery box for these mics, a pre-amp like the C9100 or what? It appears running them directly into the MK-II is not the best idea...

any help is greatly appreciated
thx

I'd go with the 9100 just for the versatility of it, meself. Always nice to have that extra gain should you find you need it.

CA-14 > CA-9100 > Recorder is great for quiet/moderate noise shows.  For very loud performances, you can get by with a battery box.

I'm a newbie myself, but I heard only good things about Chris' CA-UBB for $29.99

Thanks, I'll check it out.  This is my first low profile rig...little different that the bag full of crap I can carry into most of the shows I go to

I have both the CA-9100 and CA-UBB.  It's all you'll need.
