Title: help with sound level

I recorded a show at a club that I have only been to once before. The over all recording came out good, but the first several seconds red lined my Edirol R-09HR.

I would like to post this show but this problem has me stumped.

What would be a good solution?

Distortion is forever.  I'd fade in after levels were set to an acceptable gain.

Fade in or make two tracks for the first song. one before/as you "red lined" and one after and then just a put a note saying why the odd tracking
