The Self-timer maximum delay is 10 seconds, enough
time to back away from the recorder and mics so your
breathing won't be heard.
I was hoping for a programmable timer, to start a
recording session at a specific time of day. Maybe in
a future firmware update!

quite honestly I'm please roland is still developing and updating the firmware for this device. It's so easy for a company to put out a device and have firmware 1.0 on it but they have done several updates.
These updates in 2.0 may not do us any good but maybe we can find a use for them.
does anyone know if you can revert back to 1.6 if you don't like 2.0?

I am now even more in love with this thing!
Awesome upgrades!

Thanks for the heads-up. The free tuner and pitch analysis functions are perfect for me, working with lots of musicians/vocalists.

Very cool update! Thanx for the link. I had no issues with updating one of the earliest editions of this machine. Ran a record/playback test, fine!!

anybody used this? is it as stable as 1.6?

I'd still really love to get a pre-record function onboard.... anyone know if Roland / Edirol is taking recommendations for updates?
-
whats the purpose of pre-record when it probably uses just as much battery and media is dirt cheap?

Used it for the first time in the field yesterday. Everything ran fine for 6+ hours.

It you are 2 seconds late on hitting record, the pre-record option is nice. It's saved me a few times with me R-4. I too would like to see it.

Another 3 reasons for getting it.
Went down to my music store and they said it costs like 350 bananas.. starting to save right now.
