Title: Has anyone successfully installed TapeTracker on Vista or Win 7?
Post by: papajohn on October 15, 2009, 01:43:24 PM
I keep getting various MS install file errors, and believe that TapeTracker is not compatible with architecture of Win Vista and soon to be released Win 7.   I know it has been unsupported since Win 2000, and it works fine on Win XP.  Has anyone had any success or can you recommend a new db to be used, preferrably one that can import the tapetracker db.   I just cringe at the idea of keeping a Win XP computer around just for this 1 app.

BTW, I did try an XP Mode install which gets past part of the install but does not display any of the windows within the applications shell.

Possibly Impleo (http://www.sappy.dk/impleo/ (http://www.sappy.dk/impleo/)). It's based on a MySQL database. I guess TapeTracker is MS Access (*.mdb) based?
