Title: Defeating the Broadcast Flag?
Post by: rigpimp on October 19, 2009, 07:06:04 PM
OK, I'm not a pirate, but I do enjoy pulling .ts files off of my DVR, splitting them open, editing out the commercials, and ripping DVDs for my personal collection for later viewing.  Typically it is of live concerts from HDTV like Palladia.

Occasionally a movie or documentary pops up On Demand that I'd like to watch later.  Killer Klowns From Outer Space just popped up in HD but it has been tagged with the broadcast flag.  I can't find anything that defeats the flag.  I imagined there would be software that would allow me to record a movie that I pay to have broadcast into my home, but it sounds like Congress says no.  ??

Seriously though, I'm not familiar with this at all, but I'll be interested to hear the outcome.
