I am looking to buy a mic setup for taping shows at large arenas as well as small clubs.I don't have a lot to spend.I have been looking at these 2 Church-Audio mics/amps.Could I get away with the less expensive one :Stereo microphone preamp ST-20A CHURCH AUDIO
B-99A Professional binaural
Stereo omnidirectional
Microphones $139.99
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Church-Audio STC-9000 stereo cardioid microphone system
Made with Mogami Wire Corp. cable $199.99
Or do I need this one ?
I appreciate any help with this.
Thanks

Buy the CA-11's with switchable omni and card capsules + CA-9100 if you can afford it.

The CA-9000 is good also if you need to save a few bucks, but I wouldn't get the ST-20A. I'm sure its fine for the money but the 9000 & 9100 are much more versatile. Virtually nobody here talks about using the 20A.
And don't use E-Bay to buy from Chris. He gives a discount to taperssection members.
E-Mail him for prices here (and mention taperssection):

I agree with the CA-11 + 9100 suggestion, try to find it used in the yard sale forum. You can probably get one for $150-175 I would guess. The 9100 I think would be worth the extra $$ since it has a variable gain dial that is highly useful for setting levels.
