Title: Edirol R09HR help on recording level
Post by: taper2000_uk on November 06, 2009, 03:08:06 PM
Hi tapers
I have just received an Edirol R09HR and having gone through the instruction manual, I think I may have received a faulty machine. The problem is that the input level buttons do not make any difference to the recording level when changed from 0 to 99. When I press record the sound is recorded and does not peak. Have I somehow set an automatic recording level that does not appear to be mentioned in the manual?
Any help out there please.

Sounds like you figured it out yourself. Try turning the Limiter/AGC switch on the back of your machine to off.

Thanks for the help, however still the same thing - no change from the input levels but recording level remains the same.

The INPUT recording level only goes from 0 to 80 (left side buttons)...the headphone output volume goes from 0 to 100 (right-side buttons).

Which side are you manipulating?

If it is the left side and your ACG/Limiter switch on the back is OFF (switch to the left), then you may have a faulty unit. I would however start with a Factory reset...

Menu > 12 Factory reset (at the bottom of the list).

Better get used to using the current firmware (and controls)first!
