1. When AUTO STOP option is used in AUTO REC function, next recording is started automatically.
2. The problem that the sound is missed between divided files when the WAV file recording exceeds the size of 2GB was corrected.
3. Made FF/REW function faster.
4. Reduce the time to select a file.
5. Fixed the problem that H2 freezes at DIVIDE function in rare cases.

I've just tested the firmware using 24/96 line in (to hit the 2GB split as soon as possible) and it's gapless (joining the split files using Reaper, checking by ear and by zooming in to sample level by eye to check for any discontinuity at the join).
Not so sensational for users of other equipment but for H2 owners who have previously had to put up with something like a 20 second gap at the split, it's amazing!

... and I've also tested the revised auto start facility. Hitherto, if you set an autostart recording to auto stop, it wouldn't start again. Now it starts and stops continuously in the presence or absence of audio above/below the level you set. That too is a gapless split, in the sense that if you feed the H2 from a CD player, if you pause the CD then unpause it, causing the H2 to stop then start again, there's nothing lost at the start point, as it actually includes a tiny bit from just before the point where you unpaused the CD. I'm not sure how useful the facility would be for musical purposes, but it would certainly be handy for applications like monitoring your home when you're out, recording any noises that happened.

It's absolutely priceless for recording air band or maritime radio communications on channels with low traffic densities.

Update - version 1.7 is now out but is not so exciting. (Perhaps people like me who get excited about firmware upgrades need to get out more....)

YAY! Finally! I wish I'd know this in November, but at least I got it now!

This is great news :D I have personally sent letter through the US Mail advising that I thought there wording in the documentation would offer a true VOX recording more, I can't wait to get the update and be able to use my H2 for my original purchase to record radio scanner. However they pulled the update due to a problem, and I can't even get the 1.6. So I will have to wait a little bit longer to enjoy it.

It looks like they are already on 1.70 but they removed it cause I guess it was posted with a big, so How can I at least get 1.60? This has a feature I've been waiting a year for. :-) Anyone have the file they can post somewhere to download? I could not find a way on Zoom's site to download prior versions. Thanks Ron in KY

on playback and fast forward of WAV file. The bug-fixed version will be released soon."

1.8 is now available. I think I am going to wait to try it though. ::)
