Title: Emotiva Audio, any experiences?
Post by: spott on November 09, 2009, 11:40:03 PM
This stuff is getting crazy reviews from the home theater crowd, not to mention it's CHEAP.  Has anyone here had any experience with the Emotiva products?  You can get a AV Processor / Pre & 5 Channel Amp (separates) for about the cost of a mid range Denon or Arcam integrated amp.

Almost looks too good to be true (which usually means...).  I'd be curious to hear if anyone's using this stuff.

Here's some more reviews, but I was hoping someone could speak first-hand.  That's the thing about these internet only shops, it's a pretty big leap of faith to get something before demoing it (at least in a store).

they have a 30 day return policy. oppo does this as well. it's no risk and frankly easier than getting a demo from a brick and mortar dealer ime.

I'll have to keep my eye on these.. looking for some clean amps with headroom to spare, without laying down too much cash. Considering building Bruno's Hypex amps but the modules aren't cheap.

Update us if you give these a try.

ive seen this brand comped against the Outlaw brand too, with eqaully good reviews as well.  folks seem split down the middle on which is better.  they both are using the internet only sales model to keep prices down.  just an FYI.

My brother is real happy with his Outlaw monoblocks and pre/pro. If you check Emotivas forums you will see there is supposed to be an XMC pre/pro coming which is supposed to have better components in the Audio circuitry than the UMC-1 which is supposed to start shipping this month after long delays.
