Title: FM to Edirol
Post by: fonzie on November 22, 2009, 08:50:30 AM
Hello all,
I'm new to the forum, and I plan to buy an Edirol R-09 HR device.
I'm used to taping from CableFM to Minidisc, and also audience taping to Minidisc.

Can anyone help me out, is the Edirol suitable for FM recordings, e.g. using an interconnect coming from my amplifier to mini-jack in the Edirol.
I know Monstercable has a nice cable for connecting an iPod to my stereoset.

All help will be highly appreciated!
 ;D

I don't have cable FM, but have taped several times from my amp from both over the air FM and satellite radio > Edirol R-09.  You just need the proper RCA > mini cable.

I've done this numerous times, you shouldn't have any problem. I'd recommend setting the Edirol to the unity gain (I forgot what level it is on the HR) and adjusting volume on your stereo to get a good level

Agree with the above.  Get your gain from your stereo.  If you pump up the Edirol too much it can get hissy.
