Hi there...
I was just piddling around with this program and was wondering, what function in CD Spin Doctor is the same as "Normalize" in Audacity?
I like the interface so far but it is a bit quirky... I will continue to mess with it till I either fall in love, or go back to the norm ;)
Thanks in advance!
Cheers

I haven't fired up Spin Doctor in a long time. What are you using it for? Why not some of the other feature-rich apps on the Mac platform?

Just messing with it... I actually like the EQ it offers. It is an OK program but I still can't figure out how to "Normalize".

Explain... The only other program I use is Audacity. What else is out there for MAC that won't break the bank :-\

You can come over to the Mac team board and maybe hit a more targeted audience, but...
I use Amadeus. It allows me to open files, including FLAC files and edit them with the built in plug ins, and any external ones I have that conform to the plug in language. Solid tools for doing what most tapers are needing to do (normalize, switch tracks, etc), and can align your markers on sector boundaries. When done, you can add metadata and export into a variety of formats, again, including FLAC.
I think it is $40 and can be had on some deals from time to time. Also, there is a free trial, so you can give it a go. I always found Audacity to be very un-Mac like. And since I've never use d a PC, it just felt weird to me.
I've also used Sound Studio, Peak, PeakLE, SparkLE, SparkME, Logic, Soundtrack Pro, and some others I'm probably forgetting. I still come back to Amadeus.
Good luck!

I also use Amadeus for 2 track stuff and I love it!! It is def. the best for the money. I am pretty sure it supports VST plugins so you can use Ozone with it if you wanted (I use ozone with soundtrack pro).... I have sound studio and it is ok but I really like Amadeus better..... For multi-track I use Soundtrack Pro, and for resample/dither/spectral repair I use Izotope RX. I have found Izotope to be a life saver.
