Title: PMD 671 external battery pack question

What's the latest received wisdom on this?  There are old posts, but searching I don't find anything new. I made up a D cell battery pack with parts from Mouser; it lasts forever (permanent power!) but it's heavy as sin and the size of a 660...what's available either commercially or by putting todether Lion parts....?

i just used the DVD rechargeable batteries with my 671. Knock on wood, NEVER had an issue 4+ hours.  Have actually forgotten to recharge at hotel and made it through show 2. was on fumes, but made it.

Im sure I could run ALL day... havent run it yet till it died... Ill get back to you on that though.
