I never noticed this before... Glow in the dark gaffer's tape. Sweeeeeeet. ;D
Seriously... I would love to have that on the legs of my stand, it should reduce the wookie tripping statistics.

Too bad it's $25 for a 2" wide roll. :-\

If it actually glows well in the dark, that's pretty cool. I'd like to hear from someone who has tried it. I've found a lot glow in the dark products don't "glow" too well. Perhaps this is different.

Where is the cheapest place to buy gaffers tape ?

I went to the local craft store and bought some acrylic primer and acrylic day glow paint. Then I painted my stand base and when it dried I covered the legs w/ clear packaging tape to prevent chipping. Worked great and I believe it stopped a few folks from trippin' on my stand ;)

I get my gaffers tape at Guitar Center. Never a low price in that store, but it's convenient.

Wooks are attracted by that stuff, like moths to a lightbulb!

Now that is funny! True but funny.

I bought a roll of this:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/271590-REG/Delta_30110_Photoluminescent_Glow_in_the.html
And wrapped a length of it around the bottom of each leg. It glows extremely well. The problem is that, by the time I get into the venue, it's been glowing brightly inside the bag for hours and isn't too visible by the time the show starts. I could do away with the bag I carry it in, so that it's constantly "charging" in the ambient light until the lights go down in the venue, but ultimately decided that would be more trouble than it's worth.

I made a thread a while ago about a brand of SUPER glow in the dark paint that I was thinking of buying for this purpose. Never pulled the trigger on it, but I'd say if you're thinking of getting those legs to really glow, this stuff is probably your best option:

Me too, but not yet used it, always on the fence about whether or not it will stay glowing for long periods of time

eBay is the best place. $13.00/roll shipped is the most I pay, and I usually find that price buying two rolls at a time.

i use white electrical tape on the stand legs. beleive it helps
-
i buy the hot pink gaff tape because it's so damn hot. i don't know about the glow in the dark tape....doesn't seem like it would work well...but who knows.

Most of the spun-wooks at a show aren't gonna be helped by either tape or lights by the end of the night, so the best option is blocking. Having said this, the mini lights are the best option, bar none, if you want people to see your rig so they won't trip over it.

QFT. I've thought about it in the past but always figure that will just attract people to my stand faster & from further away.

I have the glow in the dark tape on my stand, but at crowded shows there isn't always enough room for someone to see the legs. So either hang or velcro strap a small led flashlight to my stand aiming down. that way it illuminates the whole footprint. Check out these inexpensive flashlight holders that clamp to your stand: http://www.batteryjunction.com/twofish-lockblocks.html
or an adjustable one like this:

i have the ebay one
works good for my stand
i don't leave it on all show because it is bright but works great for setting up and not other times you might want 2 hands
-
Just hang one of these on your stand/gear and make sure it can be read when they walk by.
