Title: multitrack problem....reaper, alesis multimix 8 usb 2.0
Post by: heyitsmejess on January 18, 2010, 08:25:12 AM
i used the afore mentioned combo into a dell mini inspiron netbook.
during recording, it appeared to to be recording flawlessly.  however, the files are nowhere to be found on the computer.

running a file-recovery program, i found a bunch of wav "clusters", but they dont come anywhere near the size that an hour of 4 tracks at 32/44.1 should be.

however, there is a ton of .rar files, the size of which comes very close to what would be expected in size.

question 1 : should i try to pull the rar files and see what i get?
question 2  : how would i go about putting these "clusters" together?

any help is appreciated!
thanks in advance!

Have you tried looking for .bwf files?

Alternatively, search for the .repeaks files and the audio should be in the same directory...

no bwf files, and i cant find the repeaks files.
nowever, i tried a different recovery program, and behold....there is appx 1.5 gigs of wav clusters.

now how would i assemble the clusters?  i cant find that option on the program im using (its just called file recovery).

BTW this computer is about as clean as it gets....less than a month old, and only a few mp3 files that are my boys.
