Title: iRiver 120/Rockbox - recording with Wavpack?
Post by: Ziggz on January 19, 2010, 06:24:57 AM
I've just been playing around with Wavpack, and seem to be getting a ridiculously good amount of battery life with it, and a 4hr file was only 547MB!

Anyone use it for live taping? Is it really lossless and any pitfalls to keep an eye on?

Cool. If I convert to WAVE using Foobar, these settings are OK?

I think it says what it says... select between faster compression or smaller files.
Never used wavpack so experiment a bit ;)

I can't help feeling I'm missing something here but the settings you show appear to be the settings for converting TO wavpack rather than FROM wavpack.

heh.... now I see it too. I thought he was going to encode a file in wavpack for testing, not decoding back to wav :D

Got it  ;) I will try it out in a live setting this week. Love the battery life using wavpack - it was only half way down after 6hrs.
