Title: On-Stage MS7920B Good Stand For Stage Lip?
Post by: Neilyboy on January 25, 2010, 01:56:27 PM

Hey there, Just wondering if anyone is running an MS7920B on stage? I like that the footprint on this thing is pretty small. I am not sure if I will be running my AT853's or a full body mic (my 4041's or e70's). I was just looking for any input on which stand I should be looking at for use on stage. This one has a max of what I believe is 30" (14" for the stand and 16" boom). Will this be enough for me?

specs:

Thanks for any input you can give me!

Gaff tape the base to the stage...that's not very much footprint to steady a full body stereo mic setup. A pull on the cable could easily send the whole thing over on it's side.

With miniature mics prob not as much of an issue.

or purchase a regular stage stand (these are good to have too) with the big round weighted base and just unscrew the mini stand from this base and place it on the larger base.....

peace ook

Both are great ideas. I will hopefully be running this at six strings for the btf show next weekend as long as the band gives me the go a head.

For onstage or stage-lip I use a White Lightning LS1100, listed as The Backlight Stand. $24.95

http://www.white-lightning.com/ls1100.html (http://www.white-lightning.com/ls1100.html)

It holds a SP-LSD2 no problem and have even used it with two sets of mics at the same time (SP-LSD2 and AKG391s clamped).

damnit kush where were you two days ago ;) oh well I got mine in yesterday. the base of the on-stage is 5.5lbs so it should work for my needs just like the collapsed length of that stand you posted quite a bit more than the one i got. thanks for the link though I bookmarked it for future ref (may have to get one if i get any money back from taxes this year).
