Title: Where to look for audio collaborators?
Post by: Andrew Wahlquist on January 30, 2010, 10:16:22 PM
Hello, new to the forum, and I only discovered it because I was trying to revive a Microtrack 24/96 that I found gathering dust at my work.  Very helpful here, by the way.

Audio (live sound) was my first introduction into the technical world back when I was 16 (1994), so it's a first love, even though I now consider myself a filmmaker.

I'm starting up a "no-budget" project, and audio play adaptation I wrote from the classic GK Chesterton novel, "The Man Who Was Thursday."  I'm looking around for audio-recordists and sound editors in Los Angeles (or editors anywhere I guess) that might want to be involved in a project like this.  It's going to have top notch actors from the LA theatre scene, and I expect a high-level of quality from this thing.  We're going to do a lot of field recording, I expect, with actors interacting together to keep it dynamic and real.

So collaborators is what I'm looking for, and perhaps this is a place to look.  Is this a good place to post for it?

Check out http://www.manwhowasthursday.com/ and the linked facebook page.  Send me a PM if you have any questions or advice for me.

Thanks,
Andrew Wahlquist

You should be able to hook up with the folks there. Sounds like an interesting project...

Try mandy.com and post an ad.  It's a pretty popular site centered around film and television but there are folks with audio skills.
