Title: DAT transfers with a Sony PCM D50

What do I need?  Is this a decent method?  Thanks in advance!

Great method. You don't need anything but the obvious-a DAT with an optical digital out to play the tapes in and a digital cable with the proper connections to connect the 2. If your DAT has only a coax out, you would also need a format converter to convert the signal to optical.

I do think I read a recent post where someone said he did this and wasn't getting the track marks transferred until he found out that there was a setting on the D50 that had to be changed, but I can't find the post now.
