Hi everyone,
My name is Steven and I am an editor for the McGill Tribune, a student run newspaper at McGill University in Montreal. I am currently working on a feature for the newspaper about live concert recording and tape trading and would like to know if any regulars from the Tapers Section would be willing to be interviewed. I am a longtime jamband fan, appreciate a quality live recording, and have always had a fascination with the taping sub-culture. So if you have some spare time during the week and you want to talk about your experiences taping, equipment, and why you tape, shoot me an email at steven.hoffer(at)mail.mcgill.ca.

Here's an example of a really great article from a local paper in Kansas City last year-- may be a good jump-off point. At one point I reached out to the writer for help with an article I din't end up writing for my own college paper, I was able to get a phone interview with him (just google his name to find his website and contact info). I'm sure you can find plenty of people here you can interview, I'll be happy to help in any way I can.

Classic movies are a big hobby. Bogart is my favorite, but Bergman is a little more eye-candy. ;)

Very cool that you're looking to do a piece on this; if you want any first hand interview subjects, you should drop a line in the Canadian taper thread (http://taperssection.com/index.php?topic=107112.195 (http://taperssection.com/index.php?topic=107112.195)). My sister contributed to the Tribune when she attended McGill and I myself have a number of friends who currently attend, so I'll have them keep an eye out for this feature. You should send the story over to the Fulcrum at Ottawa U to see if they'd run it here :) It would open many eyes around campus, that's for sure.

Article already appeared in print but getting it published elsewhere isn't a bad idea.
