Title: Deluge (Bit Torrent Client) - How to start seeding?
Post by: Fatah Ruark (aka MIKE B) on February 11, 2010, 11:35:47 PM
I have put together a seed box using Ubuntu and Deluge as the client.

I am familiar with seeding on Windows and uTorrent.

Here is my problem. With uTorrent I would create the torrent file, upload the file to the tracker, download the torrent file from the tracker, and then point uTorrent to the files I want to seed.

I can not figure out how to do this with Deluge. When I point to the folder with my files, it tries to DOWNLOAD to that folder. It does not check the files like uTorrent would (and then start seeding).

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

I'd like to use a Linux based client, but if I can't get this figured out, I'll use uTorrent under WINE. Help me avoid that.

Thanks!

Go one level up in the folder hierarchy when selecting your download directory. Otherwise a new directory will be created.
