Title: File opens in Foobar and Soundforge but not Wavelab?
Post by: Fatah Ruark (aka MIKE B) on February 19, 2010, 10:35:11 PM
I have a recording that will not open in Wavelab. When I try to open it with Wavelab it pops up a window that says, "Special File Format" and asks me to select the Bit Rate and Sample Rate. I select what it was recorded in (24/48) and just opens a blank file

I can open it in Foobar and play it, and I can open it in Sound Forge. I tried to save the file as a different file from Sound Forge and Wavelab will not open that file either.

I also tried to convert it in r8brain, and that program also will not open it.

EDIT: CD Wave also opens the file.

I am trying to mix it with another source so I need to get it open in Wavelab.

Any idea how to fix this? Or is there another program I can try to do  matrix in? I am pretty good a doing matrix's with Wavelab so I would prefer to use Wavelab.

Thanks!

Figured out the problem. The file I tried to open was 2.5 hours long so it was too big for Wavelab to open (I don't think Wavelab can open files larger than 2GB).

I ended up chopping up the file into smaller sections that Wavelab could open (in CD Wave) and then opened them in Wavelab's Montage. It even opened all of the files and put them in the right order.
