Title: wireless mics / transmitters
Post by: spcyrfc on March 12, 2010, 08:55:25 PM
i have been contemplating ways to run mics on stage, take a sbd feed and run an ambient pair.
after all the research i have attempted to do RE:wireless mics/transmitters, i am more confused than before and have no concrete idea of what, if any solution i could pursue.

could i hook up a pair of wireless devices (or just one) to the sbd and 'broadcast' them to my recorder?

could i hoook up any mics via wireless and broadcast them wirelessly to my recorder?

sorry for the ignat questions, i appreciate any guidance (reading, knowledge etc.)

to do it right it would run you 4 to 5k to something that gets close to hard wire quality

zaxcom digital stereo line or lectrosonics D4

Yes, it won't be cheap to get good quality.

I currently use the Lectrosonics SRa stereo receiver with a pair of UH400 & UM400 transmitters. This system has been rock solid for me.

The UH400 transmitters have an XlR Input and the UM400's have a ta5 input. I'd recommend the UM400's because you can get line level and mic level XlR to ta5 adapters.
