Black electrical tape works well for me. The light really is annoyingly bright.

Is there anyway to dim down the orange light for stealth?

theres nothing you can do about it... and yes it is obnoxious but its about my only complaint about the recorder.  my solution for hidden recordings when checking levels is obviously have it hidden from view during recording, pull it out as if "checking the cell".  for situations where im recording open its still obnoxious so i use a hat over it or lock the buttons and place it facing down.  the hat solution is also a good idea for hot outdoor shows because it provides the recorder shade to help prevent overheating.

Again,Just use the trusty black electricians tape! There is no internal function for getting rid of the red light. However,Be careful not to put the tape on TOO tight or else you may find the unit starts recording and/or pausing if very light or unintended pressure is applied to the record switch.Keep it loose brother!!!
