Post by: livejamz on March 24, 2010, 10:20:38 AM
I have been doing research and was wondering what everyone thoughts are regarding Vorbis. Any help would be great.

Well, it's a lossy compression scheme, so I wouldn't use it for archival, but it's fine for casual/portable listening. However, (at least to my ears!) it can give better sound than MP3 at lower bitrates. If you have a portable player that supports Vorbis, you can cram more music onto it... but a lot of players don't support it.

agreed. All of my transport music is in ogg vorbis for this reason. I get more bang for my buck.
