Title: Place to buy windscreens?
Post by: F0CKER on April 01, 2010, 05:03:44 PM
Anyone know a good place to buy a set of decent windscreens?  Not looking to spend big bucks, but need something better than the soick windscreens I have.  Looking for 21mm diameter mics.

You can try Windtech 1200/1300 windscreens from B&H, they're fairly cheap and decent for the price.

Full compass seems to have the best prices around... and I get cheaper prices when I call, vs. the web. And for schoeps stuff, Jerry at Posthorn.  He is one of the few dealers that actually stocks more obscure (and critical!) Schoeps parts, so I like to support that.

I think the windtech's are low quality.  The foam on the pair I bought was very closed, compounding the fact that the design does not leave any air around the capsule.

I'd try and find a good pair of used windscreens.
