I was curious I just picked up some CK-21 for the good ole Pelusos' I have heard these caps raved about but what stereo pattern do you like to run in and why?
-
I asked here a while back and most people favored NOS when I asked. I have since used that as my sole config for those caps and love the results.

Where's M/S? ;D

I use a Schoeps stereo bar that was designed for their MK 21 capsules; it has 25 cm (almost exactly 10 inches) spacing between capsules and an angle of 110°. A family resemblance to ORTF was definitely intended, but the assumption was also made that with wide cardioids, the miking would usually be a little closer than with cardioids. So an arrangement with a slightly wider recording angle than that of ORTF was chosen (by Jerry Bruck, actually, and I voted along with him).
According to Schoeps, if you want the same recording angle that ORTF would give you with cardioids, then the distance between capsules should be about 1" greater (28 cm).
