When I double click on he audio file in my 722 it will open the file in Windows Media player. The problem I am having is that I cannot jump from one part of the music to the next....Whenever I click on the bottom time line it will always start from the beginning of the track. Can someone tell me why this happens? Other audio files I have I can jump from one part of the file to the other but the audio files from my 722 will always start from the beginning of the track. Thanks and I hope someone can advise me fix my problem.

Have you tried foobar in this situation? I would rather use foobar than anything from MS, but that is my bias about MS.
-
Have you tried moving the file to the PC? WMP may behave differently when accessing files over firewire.

The culprit is Windows Media Player. And in my experience it additionally behaves differently on XP, Vista and 7. My suggestion is to download a different media player.

I have had similar problems with WMP. Try another piece of software.

Of the few things that bug me about the 722, the inability to easily access the middle of a recording, without fast forwarding the whole way through, is the most annoying. I don't understand why then did not make the rotary switch available to quickly speed through, or even go to "end of file" so that you could back up from there.

Well.. the great thing is that they do add features rather than release a "new" model with new features, like pretty much everyone else.
Make the request... I think that would be a great feature. It could include a config option that scales how far the rotary switch advances with each click.

Overall, the 722 is an awesome machine. There are only three total issues that I have with it, which are:
(1) Inability to scale the meters
(2) Inability to swiftly scroll through files (this issue) and
(3) The ridiculously slow transfer via Firewire, when USB decks that I have had, transferred data at least four times faster.
At your suggestion, I will forward these comments to Sound Device.
