Hi everybody!
Just digged up an old DIO-recording I did in 2004, that is recorded on a SONY PCM-M1 DAT. It's truly amazing, and I want to re-upload it to Dimeadozen in rememberance of the little man with the great voice!
The problem is that during a few songs (like 2) there are diginoise from a cellphone (you know the di-dididi-dididi-diiiiiii) that is heard when near a speaker? It happened a few times when I was using DAT and I never found a good way of removing this irritating noise...
Anyone know any tips or tricks to get rid of it? I can send anyone who's intrested samples.
I use an Intel-based iMac and Audacity at the moment - so no PC.
Thanks in advance!!!

The best way I know is to turn off your phone at shows.... not much help at this point, but should help in the future

Yes, a good tip, but unfortunately it was people around me :rockets: - not me. I never have my phone on at a show, for what? ???
Thanks for the tip though

Maybe Samplitude Spectral Cleaner can do it.

Have you got any experiences with this program? Do you know where I might find it easily? Searched the net for results, but came up short.

Spectral cleaner is a function in some of the versions of Samplitude ( and standard in Sequioa ). It is not ( as far as I know ) part of the Magix offering Samplitude Producer.
Regardless, it takes a bit of work to clean up a recording. And godo listening equipment to be sure that you do not destroy things.
I have sometimes helped people by cleaning things, but the time simply is not there to anything right now.
There are other program packages that can do the job in similar ways. Hopefully other people can give pointers.

Thanks Gunnar,
sounds hopeful. It's only like 10 seconds total that I need to get cleaned up. Let's hope someone else also can give me examples of a solution :yack:

Jonas,
Good idea to upload some of your excellent masters on DIME. Many people will appreciate!
In regards to your cell phone issue you may try IZOTOPE. With a bit of luck you will diminish those disturbing digital signals.
Best of luck!

Ok buddy, thanks!
Will defenitely look into it... ;D
I got 3 DIO master recordings I'd thought I'd share again. Gothenburg (2003 + 2004) and Malmö (2008).

I'd just leave the cell phone interference in there. There's no way to really remove it as it usually distorts the majority of frequencies. Another side effect of leaving it in the recording is that all listeners are reminded of why they should turn off their phones during shows :D

I would have to see the wave file and listen to it. Many hard to remove digi noise can be zapped at the bit level by really zero'ing in on the spike and zapping it at the mili-second level. Very time consuming. Might work, might not. Depends.
