woo hoo, now you're cookin dustin

maybe the iBook. I'd go with a Vaio though, just cause that's what i have been using for a year now, and I have yet to encounter a problem with mine. Just keep the screen small, and be sure to pick up a N-Charge battery for it. I'm runing a pcg-srx87, pentium III, i think 20gb HD, and processor is 933 maybe, I can't remember exactly

best of luck in the comp hunt, you're gonna love the upgrade!

yeah, ive been contemplating the laptop world for quite some time, now i actually have the cash sitting right here

ive allready been scoping some n-charges on the bay... well there are only 2 up there compatible with the lifebook i may get

what model n charge is the picturebooks compatible with? the site just has sony > vaio but they dont have the picturebooks up there

what should i look for in the n-charges? there are 2 different sizes correct? lay some info down on me mark

hahah

As far as which battery you chose, I'd just keep in mind how many times you plan on taping, when you will need continuous battery life (such as a phish summer tour, where you might go 2 days in a row without charging) if that were the case, I'd go with the VNC-130 instead of the 65. Just having that extra security is a good feeling. I know i didn't charge my battery between charlotte > atlanta, and I still had a solid amount of battery life left(that was also including powering the USBPre, which runs on laptop power)

As far as being compatable with the vaio picturebook, it would work fine with the picturebook C1-X, but then again, I'm not sure as to what model you are looking into. They have quality customer service, so you're best bet if you can't find the model of your notebook would just be to e-mail them.

im looking mainly at c1vn's and c1vpk's along with the fujitsu lifebooks and thier site has them on the compatibility list allready

ahhh, i was confused, i ahve been browsing Electrovaya Powerpad's. they are the cheaper option to the n-charge correct?

the powerpads had an issue with becoming extremly hot, that was my reasoning for staying away from them. and i believe the n-charge was actually cheaper. 299 for the n-charge 130.

powerpad has probbaly corrected the problem, but i just decided to play it safe

best of luck!

hmm, i was thinking one was cheaper and i had thought it was the electrovaya, maybe i was wrong

if it is just 299 new, i would just buy new then! im headed to check outt hier site now!

You should PM Damon & see if he still has his fujitsu for sale. No need for a valance with the extra batt's he has.

as far as little laptops go, I love my vaio u3. Much smaller than the fujitsu or c1vn or c1vp picturebooks. they dont sell em in america, but you can find em used on ebay for $1000 or so
