Title: TEAC-VR-10
Post by: DaveH on June 18, 2010, 02:48:47 PM
I was just wondering if anyone has used or seen this recorder. It has to be the smallest one I've seen yet and could easily be mistaken for a cell phone.

Hello:

It is a slightly stripped down version of the Tascam DR-08. See the retail section for a TS special.....

I own this deck.
So far I've only had a chance to run it once at a show.
It distorts easy on the internal mics.
I think recording at 4 or less at a loud show is all you can go.
I recorded a test at 7 and the peaks were distorting.
I was 20 rows in at a large amphitheater show near the wall.
It sounded real good overall.
Very impressed by the playback.

But I think it will make a good recorder to record to from external pre and  mics as well.
combined with a Church 9100 and SP mics - stealthing just got easier.
I'm still fine with 16bit/44.1 (or 24bit if I need that)

The Zoom H1 comes out next month.
It will be interesting to see what kind of quality the recording you can pull with that.
