can someone explain what exactly digi-mod does to the ua-5?I bought one mostly to use the A/D for some transfers from MAC to digital and am curious what this mod is for/does.

it makes it so you can use it without a computer hooked up to it. SO you can use another kind of recorder with it

so it is basically a pc interface before the mod and after other types of recorders can read the output signal.is this correct?

I guess this could also be used well for recording mics > ua-5 > laptop?

And yes, you could also use the UA5 to record mics > UA5 > laptop.
