6 phantom powered mic channels at the price is going to be interesting. And these days it seems you have to work quite hard to produce a really bad mic preamp.
From the Sweetwater site, though - "Zoom has informed us that this item has an unusually long shipping delay"

This is very anticipated by the folks who use the r16. I am VERY surprised it has six phantom powered inputs, it seems like zoom listens to its customers.
Once again, I know this is not for tapers and those who don't like Zoom will not even consider touching this one or the r16.
$500 sounds very reasonable considering the r16 was $400.
