Title: What is your Smallest stealthy T-bar setup ??? (sharing is fun and educational)
Post by: igene on July 05, 2010, 11:30:21 PM
Just playing around with my parts and came up with this >
lamp parts and a CCTV cam base
I figure in  jazz club or dinner club, place it on the table and make a TeePee out of a napkin and place it on top !?
The mics are SP omni mics.
[ I didn't cut anything, just used what I had / it could be cut down some ]

Then I got ambitious and had to make a smaller one.
here's what I came up with....
I found a piece of metal that was already T-bar like, drilled 1/4" hole and tapped it.
Then screwed it onto a mini CCTV cam. swivel head base
self adhesive fluffy velcro pieces for a better grip and possible high freq. vibration reduction.

I currently finished an even smaller rig for a stand for my CMC-08's
(post pics soon)

2 - CCTV mini cam mount (base drilled out and tube drilled & tapped to 3/8")
3 - T bar (drilled and tapped to 3/8") needs to be painted black
4 - Velcro on end for dampening and a better grip

6 - ballhead /Adjustable
7 - AT swivel mic clips

Curious .... where is the AT swivel clip (item #7) in your post available? Does it fit snuggly on the at853? I've been using a t-bar fashioned from wooden rulers / paintsticks painted black. They are very light, easy to work with, and readily available.

hey,
sorry for the delayed response...just got home after more than a week.

The swivel mount is from soundprofessionals.com
I think they sell them separately.
The clips are tight on the mics and the swivel part holds pretty firmly too.

ellaguru - nice rig, but it looks top heavy...? (are those B&K's ?)
