Title: R9hr Hidden menu
Post by: aleal5687 on July 09, 2010, 09:46:51 PM
Thought this deserved a thread of it's own. Thanks to " listener2" & "auto_pilot" for finding this and posting that it works. found here http://taperssection.com/index.php?topic=136900.msg1781852#msg1781852

With the R9hr already on Press "menu" & "A/B" at the same time.
A new #7 "special setup" appears

Rec LED off = No more annoying red light!!!!!

There were a few other options that I have no clue. I will let the TS experts take a deeper dive into the new "special setup"

btw still running firmware 1.04

Yeah, I have no clue what many of the settings that can be changed refer to. A number of them obviously refer to changing how the limiter operates. Would love to know if there are changes that could be made here that would make the limiter work even better than it does. Just curiosity I guess because with 24 bit we don't really even need limiters. I just like to leave it on as a safety valve and set levels so it is not likely to kick in.

As a R09HR owner I appreciate this thread showing this new possibility.
The selection is very wide, but there are a lot of settings I don't know what they refer to.
It would be very nice if some expert R09hr owners could explain the meaning of these settings.

Volunteer needed!!  :)

The HR has a test Mode as well if you want to make additional changes like one touch recording. basically follow gutbucket's advice for the R-09 here:
http://taperssection.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=136640.0;attach=99183

but with the following changes:
Hold down Menu & A/B split while powering up. Then press Finder & Speed at the same time. Scroll down to the Debug Menu if you want to set it to record at 1 touch.
