wow nice lookin bar.. if i ever find myself an at822 (just like the mic and have wanted one for quite awhile) I would look into purchasing this bar..

just wanted to fluff some of Teds gear as well :)
He has that 3' split with center mount that may work out for a decent price if that is what is holding you back on the bogen bar.

take care,

if money is not a factor, look into the Grace SpaceBar - it has movable mounts but runs ~$300 if memory serves me

a somewhat cheaper alternative but still about a frankie, is the SP bar (I think it's an SP) that is similar to the Grace
tonedeaf has a thread around here somewhere with some pics where he shortened one

That bogen is nice gear but it has a BIG footprint. I bought one and have never used it b/c I feel like an idiot carrying something so huge into a show.  For those that do outdoor shows in big taper sections, maybe not as big an issue.  For me, with a lot of the club shows I do, it feels like overkill.  But the build, etc. are excellent.

I think you are referring to the Superlux MA-90 (http://www.superlux.us/accessories.html)

Probably not the best "tape from your seat at head height" rig ;)

You have to understand what some depraved folks bring to a show.. Often it is a full multi-track rig to take the whole board, in addition to mics...

Also, I'd buy some 5/8 od aluminum bar to have a few different lengths to choose from.

Wow I feel like a putz using mine for hanging some PZM's on 24" square 1/4 Plexiglass from the bottom of one of these and running a stereo Bar in the middle with Naks on top...

Eh It worked, was easy to adjust the angle of the PZM's...strong as a mofo too...somehow the PZM's got gone...I always wondered if I left them somewhere or they got pitched (I kept them wrapped in a towel at home)

All you clamping folks should love it...you could run three sets on the bar I'd bet
