As seen in this thread...

If possible, I need a tally of how many are interested in a bar of this type that will hold your caps upright. If you don't own, but have friends that do let me know on their behalf. I have a feeling that this will be a short/limited run so I want to make sure I make enough for everyone...
1-2-3...go!

upright at 70 degrees? :P
sorry, i couldn't resist.

i know this isn't related but i'd be all over a din bar for my skm140s, any plans on making one?
-
robert,
count me in on one of those upright thingies for my 4v's.

todd r has put one together himself, it's a bit ghetto but it will work for now while we all await the kwon bar. he's out of town for the week but shoot him a line about how he did it...

We're on the homestretch for the Neumann bar...knock on wood. Final protos should be here shortly...

What about DIN bars for 4022's?
-
are you talking about a true ORTF bar for the 4v's?
DIN for 4022s would be great too!

count me in!!

Well the design I have now has two slots, one at 17cm, another at 20cm. So you can run a DIN, DINA, or an ORTF with the same bar. IT'll be notched to let you know how to turn your cap to be at 90 and 110. I may even put one in between for 100, but you can probably just adjust the dot to the middle...
I also need the physical mic to be able to complete the 4022 bar...I can send you schoeps gear to run in place until the design is done ::)

+T nice werk kwon

If it's not too late, I would definately be interested in a bar like this. I've been running my v's on a din bar I picked up from Cascade Media. For those of you that are geometrically challenged, a din bar run in either direction still gives you 90 degrees, but a bar that would give me 110, especially upright, would be great. I've always thought about making a 70 degree bar, but am far too lazy.
-
thanks for the geometric details Mike!

careful, they probably won't want to trade back ;)

No worries. My mics are pretty loyal so they'll fight to come back. Where else would you want to be if you were Schoeps (aside from GmbH)? ;D
I have a 70deg bar, never made any for production. This was aimed more for hypers back in the section. For fear that people were going to use this for the Vs I never made more than for my personal use. Why run something half-ass when you could have the real thing, caps upright?

don't think that's gonna be an issue. 8)

Please count me in! Crouch may never get his 41v's back after I get this bar. ;)
Thanks Robert!

maybe a proper ortf bar for the mk4vs will help convince someone to buy mine ;)
the mk4vs can make some siiick tapes, if run properly (i.e. 110deg when it is so desired)
-
Scott...you thinking about getting the 5's?

A 2 year later bump....
Anything else ever come of this? I'd love an all purpose Kwon Bar specifically for Vs.

Okay I'll bite....I asked Robert about this a while ago. Nothing is going on about it at the moment. The best you are gonna do is line up for my hat mounts and drill a hole to make them work with a regular 5/8 stud.....

taking orders now..... ;)
I ran this last Sat when The Bays were at the Liquidroom in Ebisu. Really nice separation and imaging but I have nothing to compare it to as I probably was the only one taping, if you could call it that. Leegeddy's mini to mini cable totally let me down. Kept popping out of the M1 like it was a cursed leper.
BTW, if you like this electronic/jam fusion stuff....The Bays is really great stuff. I am not so down with STS9 or Particle. This is wayyy heavier and much more trancy/DJ/rappy. I couldn't stand still!

For in-kangol use, your setup might be the way to go anyway, shaggy. I ran MK41V caps the other night on a DINa Kwonbar in a kangol, and while the mics were held in great position, the bar really began to hurt my forehead after about 90 minutes. It seems completely comfortable just touching your head, but it's like water torture or something after an hour and a half.
I was just borrowing the caps, but if I buy a pair, I'm gonna try to make myself a similar bar that's curved to match the lines of the hat. That should keep the plastic away from the noggin, and make for an awesome setup.
If anyone hears from Robert, tell him I still really want those straight extentions we were talking about ages ago. ;) Can't blame the guy - I can't begin to count the number of projects that I've got going that are stalled for one reason or another. I'm pretty sure I can make what I need by cutting a NOS bar in half and taking a dremel to the plastic for a few hours, but that's a messy proposition, and an expensive one if I mess it up. And knowing myself... I'll mess up at least one of 'em.

I have an adjustable bar project going that will work with either mk4's or mk4v's.. Pics soon.
