My thoughts exactly ...
-
the price is heftier too! ;)
-
I'm not sure I'd shell out $100 for 2 of them.
-
Looks a lot like the Shure A81WS - inner less dense core, outer more dense shell. Why not go with the Shure's for ~$60/pr?
-
Whoa ! I thought that price was for a pair, I might have to ask Talyor what the deal is ...
-
No way I could spend $100 on foam. Thats a crazy mark up. Btw taylor is a good guy
-
you would if you had LD mics :D
-
I have LD Mics but the tl's come with windsreens. There is something very wrong with charging $100 for foam. Basiclly everything in the "pro audio" world has a crazy mark up

yeah can someone explain this? why is foam more expensive than weed? Are pot dealers in the wrong market?
-
Cool... Sound Room has an improved web site. Been a while since I've looked there.
Bought mics from them in March. Good company. They have time to talk to you before you buy.

$40/piece for the u89 windscreens... that's not too expensive at all.
-
To those questioning the "high" cost of windscreens: try making your own and then think again about whether $40-80/pair is an unreasonably high price. You always have the option to make your own, use socks, etc. But there's a reason most people don't.
-
They reason they cost so much is becuase the mark up for all pro audio is crazy out of control. I doubt highly if it cost them more then a couple of $$$ to make those windscreens.
