I'm looking for a cheap alternative to this http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/282455-REG/DPA_Microphones_DUA0020_DUA0020_Small_Microphone_Windscreen.html
These are the smaller windscreens for DPA 402x mics. The things are so small they are easy to lose (which I've already done once), so I am wondering if there is something less costly that is about this size and does the trick. I know Windtech makes some screens that fit the DPA 4021s, but I want to be sure they are small like these, not like the larger DPA screens, which I also have, but aren't necessary for indoor work.

You're running 4021's and your trying to save money on windscreens? ???
My solution, if you're prone to losing things is get BIGGER windscreens! I run the Shure A81WS (Big Ass Shures). I've had to physically hold down my stand to keep it from flying (far) away due to high winds and have RARELY ever heard any sort of breeze through them.
I have a bag that my windscreens live in. Nothing else goes in there. It would be difficult to leave them behind and not notice.

I'm trying to save a little cash on small, black, indoor windscreens that are easy to lose. I already have the bigger DPA screens + rats to go over them, but when I'm indoors in a non-noisy venue, which is most of the time, I prefer the smaller screens. They also don't require a separate bag like the big DPA screens do.

Gotcha!
Thought it was a little unusual for someone with more than $4000 worth of mics to be balking at $40! :P
I don't lose windscreens...I lose shock-mounts...and before the show to. No fun.

^^^ Nah, I'm willing to pay good $$ for good product... just don't want to keep on replacing/losing $20/ea screens. I replaced the one I just lost, but I figure if there is something that's a cheap swapout, I'd be all for it. $20 per crack does add up...

Btw, acidjack, what make of dead rats did you wind up going with for the 4021's and what is the make/model of the big DPA screens you use? Think I might have to go custom as none of the shops have been able to give me a definitive answer on dead rats for the standard screens on my DPA's or 414's.

Tell me about it. Shock-mounts aren't cheap. Lost one on the way into the first night of Hampton last year. I was not happy when I got to the section and it was missing. I was even less happy when I found out it was $60 to replace!
