Post by: deadheadcorey on August 28, 2010, 03:41:21 PM
hoping some one could point me in the right direction, last night i did a recording of Melvin Seals. i listed to the audio and the singing all sounds like a munch of chipmunks.

this is the audio summary of the file:

bit rate 2048kbps
audio sample size 16 bit
channels 2 (stereo)
audio sample rate 64 khz
audio format pcm

My chain was  ck1s>ps2>ad20>iriver120

just to clarify, you don't actually want to resample the data.  the problem is that the file header has a sample rate of 64kHz (which is a very unusual sample rate for PCM audio), but the actual data is already 44.1 kHz.  So you just want to fix the file header, so that it will play at the correct sample rate.  This is different from resampling data from one sample rate to another.

And next time power up the ad20 & ps2 before you power up the iRiver. Then you should not have this problem again.
