Hi,
I don´t know if anyone had this problem, but last week I started up my Fr2le, with a ntg3 mic connected, 48v on, and picked up a very high frequency will monitoring or recording,
changed the trim and rec gain, with no visible result, even the headphone vol, download the files to the computer, and the high freq was there, with lower amplitude but there... tried diferent locations, and it´s still there... changed the mic and still could hear it... does anyone have this problem? something with the preamps? maybe the battery, using a tamiya 7.2,
changed it to 4 sanyo enloop batteries and the same...
Just the previous weekend i had been recording with this setup, and without problems...

what frequency range and recording at what settings (e.g. 24bit/96k)

... recording at 24/48 and the high freq appears around 8500hz...

is the sound present when playing back on the device or on your computer?

...in both, but it shows much less in the file (when you listen to it in the computer - using a pair of yamaha HS50M and a presonus firetudio), shows much more in playback and monitoring the recording in the fostex... the problem is that just last week nothing like this was happening, and I didn't change anything, or even the recorder was exposed to outdoor surroundings...

and you can recreate it at home? What if you hook up a different set of mics or connect your home stereo to it (or nothing)?

Hi,
what if you switch off phantom power and plug in dynamic mics? The frequency could come from the DC/DC converter for the phantom power, maybe a filter cap is defective.
