Title: Tascam DR-08 Question
Post by: Cheesecadet on September 18, 2010, 11:27:04 PM
I couldn't find this info anywhere in the manual or on TS.com so here goes:

When you are looking at the recording screen on the D8...where do the value fall on the screen for the dB range?

For example:  Is -12dB the line in the middle of the screen?

I am trying to figure out the dB range from the left side of the screen to 0dB on the right side of the screen.  Does anyone know?

I do not have the unit but am trying to get a quick answer for a buddy who is recording a show with it for the first time tonight...

TIA

Better late than never...I was wondering the same thing. I did stumble across some db #'s when messing with the auto record functions. There are 4 db levels to set the recorder up to start recording at. They are -36, -24, -12 and -6. Those db #'s are shown on the screen along with the an arrow pointing to where on that mysterious scale they fall. Hope that helps.
