every time I try this I get an error saying "Cannot export .flac" am I missing something? I know I can convert to flac with tlh, but is there some file I need or something to export directly from audacity?
Thanks
Gabe

Need more info, I guess. I've not had this problem. What version are you running? What's leading up to this?

im running audacity 1.26 on windows 7 pro. I have never been able to export as flac in audacity.
up until the most recent instance of the problem I was editing a 24/96 flac file in audacity, just screwing around with some features, trying to figure out parallel compression, etc.
If I export as uncompressed wav from either flac16 or flac24 and then convert it back in tlh, will I suffer quality loss?
another thing to note is that after I get the failed export error, I see an empty (0 bytes) flac file where I had wanted to export to.
maybe I should dry reinstalling audacity, or just start exclusively using sound forge. I should probably read up on that.

I dont think that version exports flac...
Recommend the 1.3.12 beta - lots of improvements from the "stable" version.

Ditto that. Old version couldn't flac out. Beta works quite well.

I'm not 100% sure that the audacity-exported FLAC files are compatible with archive.org!? I remember I tried using it, but wound up having to go back to exporting WAV's and FLACing with my normal means. It may only be an issue with 24-bit.

All of my FLACs are exported in Audacity; never had any issue with Archive.
