Title: Quick question regarding mic stand and stereo bar
Post by: NSL on October 12, 2010, 10:17:07 PM
I've searched the forum a few times and couldn't really find an answer...I probably overlooked it.  Anyways, I currently have this mic stand-

with a 1/4"-20 threaded top.  What kind of connector would I need to connect to a stereo bar (5/8"?)

Would this work- http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/535392-REG/General_Brand_Microphone_Reducer_Bushing.html

You're best off with a Bogen Rapid Adapter to connect to the 5/8" stud and then a 3/8" female to 5/8" male adapter.  You can find both on B&H among other places.

I ordered both of these to use with the 13 ft impact stand, they work nice.  I have a mic mount with both a 3/8" thread and a 5/8" thread so generally only use the first one by itself.  You'll need to use both together for a std. 5/8" mic mount.  Got a rapid adapter too but never use it because it's much heavier.

Or you could just get one of these to go straight from 1/4" to 5/8".
