I'm hearing things on cd's that I never heard before. Time to rediscover my cd collection.

how do you like the usb input and its functionality?

It's nice to have it as an option but I'm pretty sure the USB input can only handle 16 bit. I might as well listen to a CD/CDR if I'm going to be using 16 bit though. My PC is too far away to connect anyways.

I felt the same way when I got my first serious soundcard (M-Audio Delta 44).  When piped via RCA cables (25') to the same old stereo I've been using / listening to for the past decade, I started breaking out CDs that I haven't listened to for decades.  And some that I thought were junk BITD, sounded very enjoyable.  Even though I've played that CD on a walkman style CD player through that same stereo system and same type of connection and got the opposite impression.  The romance eventually wears off, but you never go back to just barely a soundcard.  At least not without kicking and screaming.
