Title: Audio-Technica AT875 vs Rode NTG-2
Post by: nOrD on October 28, 2010, 07:05:03 AM
This is my question to you dear tapers:) I am going to use one of them for field recording with R-44. Which would be better in sound quality, noise and sensivity?
Many thanks for all estimates in advance.

I own 2 Rode NTG-2 mics one on each camcorder that i use.  I really enjoy the sound for vocals on the camcorder.  I find the vocals a bit flat and dry, but very directional due to the mic.  Now i have not used the AT875, but if one were to move up go with the Sennnheiser the number escapes me but it does run about 1,000, but he Rode NTG-2 runs about 250.00.  I also know if you check youtube they have examples of each and demonstrate the sound as best youtube can but that might give you an idea.  I went for very good sound quality as i could.  I did not want my mic price higher than my camcorder in this case.
