I am thinking of getting a cheap little recorder with digital-in. The cheapest one I can find is the microtrack. I read some articles about problems with MTII. So I was wondering if it is best to use MT rather than MTII? I used to have an MT but got rid of it. I remember the main problems was the auto split. So if I am not worried about the auto split would you advise me to get the MT rather than the MTII?
I thought about getting the PCM-D50 again but I don't want to buy somethng over $300. I used to have it and then I got rid of it to get the more compact version for PCM-M10 for line-in recordings - now I need a small cheap digital-in recorder.
Thanks

No.

I would just get the D50 and be done with it. By the time you get the MT, compact flash, external battery, you would have spent as much on both the M10 and all the components for the MT. And wouldn't it be more comforting knowing that the D50 will reliably record rather than to have a bit of fear every time you record that the MT will flake...whether the MTII or older MT?

It also may burst into flames! ;)
